Come to meet us at our booth E005 at the agricultural fair ExpoChamps in St. Liboire, QC from August 31st to September 2nc 2021. Säätötuli Canada will celebrate the return of this event by presenting the prototype of its first all-Canadian designed product: the Torspå40 biomass outdoor boiler.
Like all outdoor boilers, the Torspå40 is installed outside and connected to a non pressurised hydronic hot-water heating loop. It can therefore heat one or several buildings with an economical and ecological wood fuel.
Unlike other outdoor boilers, the Torspå40 does not use firewood as fuel. It is equipped with a 920-liter biomass silo that can be filled with woodchips or pellets.
Torspå40 can generate a continuous output of 136,458 BTU/hr (40kW). Models with bigger outputs are also being designed.
The silo can be filled by hand or with the tractor bucket. To heat a house in the wintertime, the silo will need to be filled about every 2 to 5 days with woodchips but can last one to two weeks with pellets.
Fuel is transferred automatically from the silo to the Säätötuli burner installed in the boiler. A control automation with a digital screen supervises the operation and runs the burner when heat is required. Once the boiler is hot, the burner will automatically go on idle mode. The idle mode will simply keep some embers in the burner for it to be able to restart rapidly.
As with any Säätötuli biomass unit, there is no visible smoke nor burnt wood smell at the stack. On cold winter, you will simply see a white cloud at the chimney as the humidity of the fuel will be vaporised.
